Hall of Fame
Rules:
To qualify to the hall of fame a Legend must have achieved at least one of the following:
- Won the event three times
- Done 10
- Achieved or did something exceptional on the event ,consistent appearances and top placings, commitment to the event or service to the sport of ocean paddling
The list order is based on when the Legend did his first Challenge.
The Hall of Fame Legends are:
- Johnny Woods –done 2 official and pioneered the event in a race against runner John Ball
- Tony Scott – won the first – and then four more and done 12
- Paul Chalupsky – won two – done 10
- Glen McGregor – done 10 (RIP)
- Oscar Chalupsky – won 8 done 10
- Dave McCormack – won 4 in a row and done 6
- Herman Chalupsky – Won 3 in a row done 6
- Robbie Bester – done 10
- Peter O Conner – done 11
- Rob Welsh – won 3 done 9
- Dave Gilmer – done 10
- Mark Lewin done 7 in a row 3 thirds and two second placings in a single enormous contribution to the growth of the sport
- Ant Fielding – won 3 done 5
- Murray Smith – done 10 in a row all in single
- Ralph Teuling – done 10 in a row
- Paul Marais - won 3 done 7 worst placing 4th – all in single
